GLE 450 First Impressions - 5,000 Miles / 4 Months

I have to say this is the coolest vehicle I’ve ever owned. For starters it just looks sweet sitting in the parking lot with 21” rims, AMG line exterior and panorama moonroof.

The seats are super comfortable and controls all well laid out.

Start it up and it roars to life with a gruffness that says “I’m ready”. This baby zips through traffic and holds the road in corners. Power is smooth and controlled and when you gun it the turbo 6 with 48v eco boost gets you to freeway speed in seconds.

The tech is off the charts and the mbux system is so good I don’t even bother with carplay…really!

Talking to Mercedes is a pleasure as she’s nicer to me than Siri and quickly gets me POI’s on screen that i can get directions to or call.

Mercedes handles so many tasks by voice you don’t even need to touch the controls - except the steering wheel .

My wife, our passengers, and I love the Burmester audio and light show and the cool and massive logo displayed on the pavement when you open your door. It’s like batman’s sky signal.

We’ve driven country roads, city traffic, off-road and towed a trailer - feeling confident in every situation.

So far I’m thrilled with this latest Benz.

I have to say that I agree with you, but I've only hit 1,800 miles as of yesterday in my 21 GLE 450. For its heft, it really a car with amazing pickup when you need it and cruising on the highway is just the best experience I've had in ages (this is my second Mercedes). I had to remind myself I was cruising at just under 100mph on the NJ turnpike and I thought i was way slower (going with flow of traffic of course). Interior is just really nicely laid out and super comfortable. The Mbux system has been really good and I agree that I haven't bothered with carplay. The Burmeister surround system is really a matter of source material and I think it sounds pretty good. I was extremely envious of the air suspension (mine was a dealer stock as I didn't want to go through summer without a car), but at the end of the day I think it is pretty good.overall and it maintains its composure in the twisties especially with the 21's. Gas mileage has been respectable overall as well which is a nice bonus. I'm pretty happy!!!

I had mine a good bit longer than you and my GLE 450 still makes me smile from ear to ear. Performance mode is fun and really responsive.
I drive faster than average now.. I find me self driving 85 / 90 on the highway pretty much 0.o. It's just so easy and smooth lol..
Driving the wife's car i find it rather sluggish now lol..

Enjoy your new MB

We only hit 1K miles but that includes a 400 mile road trip. We are definitely enjoying it and look forward to another 1800 mile road trip in August!

Super comfortable, quiet and stable at highway speeds.

This isn’t a PHEV…the ISG is a generator that charges while coasting, braking, etc…in normal use the batteries stay charged even on the AMG models that use it for more functions like suspension and boost.
