Question Question in regards to climate controls

Wife has complained about the dreaded musky stench and it appears that her A/C habits will have to be adjusted a bit.
So far what I've done was to run the heat on high for 20 mins as was suggested in @fabbrisd1 's post over here (might have to do it one more time since I forgot to put on recirculate).
Wife would normally drive with AC on "low" always so she tried using auto but have some issue with that:
It appears that "Auto" only blows through the main vents - if you go to menu and try to change air distribution (she normally likes to have all three on) you can do that but Auto is no longer lit on the button (even though fan speed is still showing "Auto" on screen).
So that may not at all be ideal.
2nd question is in regards to A/C REST. That option is available on her build and can be clicked on after engine is shut off. Yesterday we did it (it was in the upper 80s outside) and after coming back 20 minutes later the car felt like a sauna inside.
Is that helpful at all for the A/C smell issue?

I think the REST function is only applicable for "heat".

Correct, it is for distributing residual heat.
