Rear side air bags

Did anyone order the rear side air bags add on option in your GLE 350? Please let me know your feedback on this. I assume it is code 293.

I have them. What type of feedback were you expecting though?
There's not aesthetic difference whatsoever. If you are ordering, I'd def would. You can't have too many airbags.

Cheers,

Yes, option 293. I got them inadvertently as I very seldom have rear seat passengers; $420 on my 2020. Hopefully, never have feedback to give on how they perform!

Thanks for the response. I wasn't clear on the difference between this and the default air bags.

The optional airbags are seat airbags. The side air curtain covers both the front and rear windows.
Side seat bags are not recommended if you are carrying small children, which is why they are optional.

Pretty sure this applies only for front-facing airbags, which is the reason it has an auto shutoff, and this should be checked when having small adults and/or children sitting on the front passenger seat (and only warning on this section of the manual).
Rear seat airbags are on the sides, which offer additional protection to adult and children alike.
