Mercedes Benz C167 GLE53 Coupe Genuine GLE63 AMG Front 6 Pot Rear 1 Pot Brake Kit
Upgrading the brakes for this stunning GLE53 Coupe. Stock 4 pot front brakes were.....I wouldn't say the braking performance is poor, but it feels insufficient for such a heavy car. GLE63 brake was chosen at the end for the upgrade.
New front brake running 400mm disc and rear running 370mm, stopping power is completely different then stock ones. Brakes fitted directly onto the car without modification needed.
Really satisfied with the result, what should be the next mod for this car?
You can get the 6 piston brakes as an option two ways on the 53…one just the brakes but they aren’t red. The other by getting the Dynamic Plus Pkg. with the red 6 piston brakes and it also includes the Active Sway Bars-a must have IMO.

Thanks for confirming specs for GLE63 rotors of 15.8" front diameter and 14.6" rear diameter.
Did you have a chance to measure(or maybe know) the diameters of stock GLE53 rotors you had before? TIA.
@richard billiam what wheels are those? Did you have any clearance issues with the wheel - calipers? Would your M-B takeoff wheels interfere?
I think that someone claimed that the master cylinder piston volume and stroke were compatible with the bigger calipers. ABS, too. Do you have any info on this?
Looks awesome super cool. The dealer said that they would just wrap the breaks using a high temp 3M wrap but after seeing this I want the real big red AMG breaks. How much does this cost doing aftermarket? Also can you sell your old ones?
Hi Richard - I gather that this one is done in Hong Kong. I was wondering if you can share where you have it done and how much was the damage? Just got a V167 and wanna upgrade the brakes... Thanks in advance.
