Gearbox Issues

I know there is quite a well known problem with jerky gearboxes, however, this is different and just wondering if anyone else has had this or similar.

My gearbox has been perfect but yesterday I suddenly started experiencing rough shifting when slowing down - feels like someone is jabbing the brakes.

Also, when I take my foot off the accelerator it’s like it is jumping in and out of gear - revs go to tick over, it then jerks and goes back to normal over and over.

I have attached a video.

On my way home just then while stopped at the lights with my foot on the brake (start stop off), the car tried to move forwards but then stalled - happened twice.

You may have a bad sensor in the transmission or the sensors may need to be recalibrated… is my guess. Sounds like a trip to the dealer is required.

Thanks for your input!

Hopefully it’s something easy to fix/replace like a sensor.

I’m just hesitant to take it in this close to Christmas unless it actually breaks down - don’t want to be stuck without a car for ages!

About 2 years ago a Forum member found that a faulty Exhaust sensor went bad causing shifting issues. Haven’t seen much like you describe since then.

Just been out for an hour and didn't have any issues so not sure if it has sorted itself out.

Will see how it goes.
