Multibeam chip shortages

Went through my order spec with my dealership. Multibeam wont be available nor adaptive full beam due to chip shortages. Newly built GLEs come with standard LED and automatic on/off full beam.

How good are these?

Would you go through with the order if multibeam was a missing option?

Not a deal breaker. Standard LED headlights very good.

They're excellent although disabled on delivery in the US. Easy to enable though and well worthwhile but I see you're in Sweden so that doesn't affect you.

If I were in a rural area, I'd have to think hard about it as they are a game changer when it comes to dark roads with deer.

As am I. Huge difference between the regular high beams and the multibeams. You can see your high beams on the right side looking past the left side non-high beams when there's oncoming traffic.

I have a GLE without, and a GLS with the upgraded lights. While I love the upgrade, I don't think I would say I dislike the standard lights. They are very sufficient for the roads I drive (combination of wooded areas, highways, etc.)

Unfortunately they dim under 18mph, and my way home through deer-filled roads frequently drops below 18. So In order to see well at low speeds, I have to find the light switch, turn to Manual, click the high beam stalk again, and then manage my beams with the stalk.
So at those speeds auto high isn't a benefit.

Does anybody know if the Raj upgrade cuts off at low speeds as well?

It’s not consistent, but I’m never sure if thats standard MB behavior or specific to the coding.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking as well. While I understand some lesser important options can be missing due to the current situation
I think that a car in this price range should be coming with the latest headlight tech.

Imagine if you had ordered a V8 and discovered that MB decided to ship most 2022s with a 6 cylinder.
