Motorola wireless Android Auto dongle

Bought one but was unable to get it to connect to my 2021 GLE. If anyone has success, I'd appreciate hearing the steps taken. (Phone is a Pixel 6 pro running latest version of Android.)

I haven't use the Motorola MA1, but for AAWireless (another wireless Android Auto dongle), I have to change a configuration (USB mode to MTP forced) to get it working. Not sure if the MA1 has similar issue/setting.

I had AAWireless and could not get it working properly with my 2020 GLE450. I tried every setting available and it would work for a while then reboot or freeze up, wouldn't work for more than 15 mins without some sort of issue arising. I ended up returning it for a refund.

I recently got the Motorola MA1 and so far it's worked flawlessly. It paired right away, there was no app to setup, everything just worked out of the box. I've had it running for over an hr with Waze and no issues. I have never achieved that with AAWireless.

One week update ... Motorola MA1 continues to impress.... It has been flawless, starts quickly and operates just as fast as the wired connection. There are no apps or modes to select, it just works right out of the box. AA Wireless had several USB modes and other options, I tried each and every mode with no success. Highly recommended to anyone considering a wireless Android Auto solution. The only minor cosmetic issue is the high gloss plastic finish that scratches very easily. I tried to clean it with a cloth and it created these micro scratches.

Unless things have changed recently the Motorola is hard to find in the US. I tried to find one for 2 weeks until I decided to buy a different vehicle that comes with Wireless AA. Amazon stopped preorders, Target ran out in one day, etc.

I have the cig USB charger so I can fast charge my phone. The built in USBC only offers poky slow charging. I do wish the Moto adapter had a USBC port so I can ditch the adapter. Those are small issues that I just deal with because it works and I'm happy to finally have a good solution after fighting with AA Wireless for months.

And yes ... you can't use the wireless charger. I didn't use it much anyway because just like the wired port, it's very slow.
