Went down to sunny Florida for about 6 weeks. After reading so many disturbing negative comments about the GLE, I was going to take my trusty 2017 Honda CR-V. I went with the GLE and my wife and I could not have been more pleased. The performance was great, loads of needed room, and mpg was about 28mpg with a fully loaded vehicle. It improved to about 30 after we unpacked and used it at more moderate speeds, 55-65 mph. Except for changing driver profile on it’s own ( this was observed when the outside mirrors did not auto fold ) and a mysterious alert to adjust tire pressure on two tires, the overall reliability and performance was excellent. The tires were just fine, however it did create an anxious few moments. Now I need to bring my GLE in for it’s first service, as it reminds me that it is about 200 miles past due. Oil change or Service A , not much difference, what do you think ?

Get the A service. Just check with the Service Writer about what "optional" things might show up, like additives, that you may or may not want. Check before you leave the car.

Thanks, I will definitely check. I hate to say this ,however, it really doesn’t matter which type of vehicle you bring in for service, a MB, or a Honda, you can never let your guard down regarding getting ripped off. When the system allows the service writer to earn commission on each transaction, the incentive to oversell the consumer becomes too tempting. I was quoted $295 for the A service, however the service associate said that there can be some additional cost . When questioned she said for AMG, diesels, and larger engines. We shall see. I generally negotiate a fair price for the prepaid maintenance package at time of vehicle purchase, however, this time my salesman could not really do much on price. In the interim, the dealership was sold to a larger auto group and my salesman doesn’t seem to have as much clout in helping me deal with his service department. I have no problem walking out if I get a feeling that the service writer is trying to cash in.

Please be aware that each dealership sets their own service cost. If you live near multiple dealerships, you may want to price first. Some times the difference in cost and level of service are worth considering.

Completed the A service this morning, $295 minus a $25 coupon offered by dealership. Nice people, completed in under 90 minutes, car washed and vacuumed. Thanks

In my experience, the price of the basic service is pretty close between Dealers. But they may "automatically" include additional services or additives, which you can refuse.
Ask what their service includes, if you want to make an apples to apples comparison.
