Wireless Adaptors

I recently purchased a wireless adaptor CarlinKit for my GLE. It has turned out to work pretty well so now I want one for my wife’s car. So here are my questions.

Should I buy the same kind or a different one so it doesn’t create any type of interference between the two cars? (I don’t think this will be a big problem). But I’m really curious as to know if I pair both our phones to each car, when we get into the car which phone will it pick? Or say I’m using one phone in the car and that phone gets out of the car, will it automatically disconnect and then pick up the next phone.

Is there anyway to make sure these things always connect to one phone over the other first?

Also for anyone using these wireless adaptors, do you have any pictures as to where you’ve mounted it or stored it to get it out of the way?

Thanks for the help

Mine sits where the (useless) wireless charger is. It needs to plug into the USB port reserved for the phone anyway.

Can't help you with the connection question sorry other than to say I recently changed to a new phone so now two profiles appear on the Carlinkit display as it powers up and it seems to go to the most recently used one. Perhaps a question for the Carlinkit people themselves.

I have a Carlinkint adapter in my car. Both my wife and I drive it and the adapter always connects to the phone that's currently in the car. If we're both in the car at the same time then it's a bit of a gamble which one connects.

The adapter only tries to connect when the car is powered (otherwise the adapter is off), so if there can't be any interference or fighting to connect between the two adapters unless both cars are on at the same time and next to each other.

@Carlinkit Carplay thanks for the response. I picked a second one up during Prime days and just recently linked a second phone to the new one. I’ll see what happens and how well it works. Thanks.

@mykel79 As soon as I open a door on my GLE it automatically says connected on my phone within about 1 minute. Sometimes it will even start playing music on my phone without even doing anything else in the car.

Thanks, Aggie. Fullscreen would literally be the only reason I would get this, but that’s that. I would rather endure the hassles of plugging simply because of lossless iTunes audio.

@Frenetic Aggie is correct. Many have talked about it before and some say there is a problem with CarPlay on the new MBUX. I find that hard to believe but whatever, it doesn’t have a full screen.
But surprisingly my wife’s ‘19 e class does.
