Easy Exit/Entry

On '21 GLE350 all of a sudden Easy Entry/Exit only works partially. The steering wheel raises and lowers but the seat does not push back. Checked in the menu and both operations are enabled. I disablerd the feature and then re-enabled. Still no luck with the seat. Ideas?

If you seat is already behind the "B" pillar it will not move further as a safety feature for the rear seat passenger.

Have 2 positions stored in memory-- wife's and mine. It is my seat memory that would not push back. Hers did. I set a new seat position for my #1 memory. After that, seat pushes back after turning off car and opening driver's door. Some kind of software glitch.

Thanks Vlad, perhaps it is the reason!

My seat normally doesn’t move either. However, if I have adjusted it, then next time it does. I assume it’s the B pillar thing. Since it’s smaller and a 2 door, there may be other factors.

Is it possible to set so the vehicle would unlock when you approach the car with the fob?

Nope. At least not on current gen vehicles. It may be a feature on EQXX models, but not on our vehicles.

If I may ask. What would be the point? Since it unlocks as soon as you put your hand inside the door handle anyway.

It's convenient when you approach and your passenger can open the door themselves. Vehicles that have this option also allow you to set so it would lock itself when you walk away. Same with the iPhone/iWatch. You can approach the vehicle and it would unlock for you. Not a big deal but more luxurious/convenient/smart if you ask me. Lol

My usual passenger is my wife. She has her own key. Besides for safety, I just unlock the driver’s door when I enter. Any other passenger can wait the 2 seconds it takes for me to hit the unlock button. My wife’s car has the option to lock when you walk away. I have it turned off. I like to stay in the habit of remembering to lock the car. Just like i always put the car in park. Instead of letting the car do it.

If you approach the driver's door, with the right setting, it will unlock driver's only. If you approach at other locations, it will unlock passengers' doors. So safety is not an issue here. I guess we all have different needs/wants. I have the walk away lock option off on my car because I don't want it to lock when it's in the garage. IMO though, I would have turned it on if this vehicle had it. I turned the "acoustic" sound on locking off. So I always have to look at the mirrors to confirm locking. And sure you can hear the locking sound too. BTW, how do you let the car put in P? Are you talking about Auto Hold braking?

A lot of cars automatically go into park if you open the door. I have never tried on the MB.

Sure seems to be a lot of people on this thread who wished they had bought an Apple watch. How can you confuse a watch with a car?

Under which scenario would this happen or you want it to happen? Driving and someone opens a door? Lol. Or your foot is on the brake and someone opens?
