GLE 450 on order
New Features to GLE timeline?

It seems we are only going to get a facelifted GLE in 2023, do you guys think we can expect the 2024 GLE to have features like rear wheel driving at low speeds, class 3 self driving(hands off in traffic) and other features we are seeing already in the new EVs? Do you guys think there are any features they could add that would be worth waiting for over what is going to be offered in 2023?

2022 GLE450
MB likes a 7 year cycle. Mid term refresh for year 4 and then leave it until the new model. I would guess with the supply chain constraints this is why the refresh isn't wild and then they will continue until the full redesign in a few years. No one has a crystal ball but this is what I believe to be true. Others will chime in.

I have a couple of comments.
First, Mercedes is the only manufacturer with a class 3 self-driving approval. As I understand it it's only available on the S Class and EQS right now, and it's a $5,500 option. (I have to admit that I'm not up to speed on Autonomous ratings.)

Regarding the rear steer, I have driven a Cayenne with rear steer and all the active suspension goodies, and it just is not as nimble or grippy as an AMG 53 with ARC.
The SQ7 and SQ8 have rear steer, but they're not even in the same league as a Cayenne and especially the AMG. Even for $25,000 more, which is what it takes to equip them with the same features as the AMG. (I couldn't find an Audi with active suspension for comparison.)
I have a 40 mile test loop with some severe twisties, that I know very well. I've compared all those, and the AMG is a clear winner. Don't know if a rear steer would help the 167 or not.

What are you adding to the SQ7 and SQ8 for $25k to be comparable?

Active suspension. 48v, similar in concept to ARC on AMG's.
