2020 Gle, leatherette seat cushions cracking

Has anyone had any issues with the seat cushions cracking? I just purchased this as CPO vehicle and the dealer IS changing out the cushions and they are on order, but I am wondering if I have to be careful going forward. Both driver and passenger side bolster cushions (the area where your hip / rear end would rub first when getting in the car) is where they have some small cracking. I am hoping this is a one off issue.

Search the forums. It's not uncommon. I've had one replaced as well, in a C300 a few years ago.

You are the first one I have heard off. Usually it is common on C-class and GLK (C) class. There is also a proper way of getting in and out of the vehicle without dragging your entire body on the side bolsters and bottom cushion. If you have the side steps use them to get in and out of the vehicle to not drag your body too much on the seats. It does not matter if it is leather or MB text seats if you drag your body to the seats it will be worn out prematurely. If you learn the right way of getting in and out of the vehicle using the side steps and watch someone who is not familiar in getting in and out of the vehicle you will see how they drag their bottoms, hips and arms to the seats.

I understand what you are saying (though, I just bought the car, it wasn’t my a$$ that cracked the seats) That being said, my F350 daily driver with 245k miles and 11 years old does not have any cracks in the leather. King Ranch Leather. Maybe that is the difference between leatherette and real leather. I can tell you, I DONT gracefully get in and out of the truck on the job site. You shouldn’t have to, seats should withstand any type of in and out, especially with 30k miles on them. I love this car, hopefully it was just a one off and the new cushions will not have the same issue.

This was a relatively common complaint when the 167 platform was launched. Try the search feature.
