My first CEL

Got my first CEL today with just over 8500 miles. Noticed the check engine light was on while I was waiting in the drive through for my dinner. Waited until I got home to plug in my OBDII reader to see if I could pull up a code. Luckily enough, I did get a code, P2C31. I did a Google search but didn't seem to find anything, at least related to Mercedes and nothing in this forum. Anyone ever see this code before? My reader said it is a powertrain code. I didn't notice any performance issues however and at least the light wasn't blinking.

CEL on a new car falls below expectations, sorry to hear this has happened.

Seems to be an increase of CEL and 48V incidents reported on this site lately. 3 years on and the issues have not been solved.

I agree that this looks related to the 48V as mentioned earlier but otherwise don't be misled by the sarcasm and trolling in the posts. Porsche Cayennes are running into the same issue, albeit without even a fix. If it's the 48V issue as predicted at least Mercedes dealers now have a fix and most users that ran into it have not had a repeat issue lately. So, good luck to you. Hope you've scheduled an appointment with the dealership.

I do have a scheduled appointment but it's just over a month away. The CEL is no longer on but at least the code is still resident in the system. Still haven't noticed any issues. Luckily I'm not planning on any long distance trips between now and the appointment so I'm not concerned with having an issue somewhere.
