Looking at a 8 week wait….they think. Once car gets officially in and they take off everything that’s been damaged they will have a better understanding how long the process will take.
Wait. Are you dealing with the other persons insurance directly? YOUR insurance should be your point of contact, and they subrogate against the other person's insurance company.

That's the easiest way, and gives you the best protection in the event of an unsatisfactory outcome.

Either way, you are the final inspector.
You'll have more standing with your insurance company though.

Oh no I’m not directly involved my car insurance is handling everything with the at faults car insurance. So far lady admitted everything to her insurance company she ran red light and hit me.
My claims adjuster has been top notch and communicating with her insurance company it’s been no problem at all he tells me. We’re all just waiting for official estimates to come in to both insurance companies and set a date with collision mechanic company hopefully this week sometime to take car in so they can get down to take it apart and see what else it might need to be fixed. So far there estimate it’s a 6 week job if they can get doors and other parts it needs on time.
