Does anyone use the personalized seat adjustments which are based on height? I find it extremely uncomfortable (5'9") as the seat is pushed forward way too close the the dash, the back of the seat reclined too low forcing me to do a gangsta lean and the steering wheel up and in my face as if I were driving a semi....

What is you all's preference on this?

Tried it. Didn't like it and set my own preferences.

It is a good start, but everyone has different size legs, arms, feet, etc. at the same height. So, a custom setting will most of the time more comfortable.

It worked well for my wife for her initial "fitment."
She was reluctant to make all the changes from my 6-ft to her 5'3 setting, so we just let it do its thing.
It was actually pretty close, but she did some fine tuning and saved it under her profile.
Also saved it under mine, since we're not very good with the profiles.

I tried it. It seems gimmicky because, as previously mentioned, just because you’re X height doesn’t mean we all have the same length arms and legs. I also felt it put me too close.

However, I will say this that you should be close enough where your elbows are at a 90 degree angle while holding the steering wheel. This what they teach race car drivers and what they recommend at performance driving schools, but the steering wheel just feels too close to me.

Rule of thumb for me is making sure the tip of my fingers touch the furthest part of the driver-pertinent controls of the dash (in this case, the touch screen) without having to move position from the seat in order reach. I like to keep the steering wheel fully retracted so that it is closest to the dash. I sit high in the seat which gives me a feeling of being on a bigger SUV than the GLE really is. Works great and I am fully comfortable, able to reach all controls and not feeling cramped at all.

Tried it didn’t like it. If you can adjust your seating position to where you are most comfortable what purpose does it serve? Each individual even if approximately the same size will most likely have a somewhat different seating position, one that best suits them.
