Updating MBUX firmware GLE 2020

We bought ours the summer of 2019 and just got it updated to the most recent version about 2 weeks ago. It actually made a big difference. Little things that were a nuisance have now been fixed, so definitely try to get it updated. Our dealership were willing to do it, but they needed a “reason” to do it so that all of the work they were doing could be done under the warranty, per Mercedes Canada’s rules. Weird, but we went with it. I would have thought that since MBUX was designed from the ground up to be upgradable that this would just be a service they’d provide. Especially since recent versions update over the air.
The reasons they used were “voice control on MBUX periodically inoperative” and “route based speed guidance not functioning properly” (the second one was actually a problem we were having. After the latest map upgrade, the distronic would slow down on the highway at every grid road we passed, and then sped up again. Super annoying).
