Active Assist Functions Inoperative - 2020 GLE

Thanks for the info but dont think it was the camera. The car tracked the road edges OK (Lane keeping assist) even when other "active assist" functions were inoperative. I am guessing that the problem was related to an interlock safety system that sensed that the "locked" back door was not fully functional. Maybe a software bug? All works fine again. A very complex system with all the "assist" functions. Will keep your experience in mind but hopefully will not experience it.

I had another unusual situation that threw error codes, apparently caused by my 12 volt battery. The battery didn’t die and doesn’t start the car so it wasn’t apparent that it had an issue. It wouldn’t hold much of a charge overnight but the MBUX screens would still light up. The one thing that helped the Tech identify it as the battery was the auto leveling function. I noticed that after driving a few minutes the car would adjust the front vehicle height. There is a stoplight close to home so when stopped it was very noticeable. They kept it overnight, after charging it first, to satisfy Mercedes requirements for a replacement.
Like you said…these have a lot of electronics and a glitch can be hard to find. In 3 years I’ve had my touch to unlock fail several times. After using the Key Fob to unlock it doesn’t happen again for months.
