It reminds me of the FT86/BRZ (since I own one lol). The lower trims without heated seating just have an empty space there where the switches are:

Its just a cost cutting measure. Cheaper to leave that space there with no purpose than to have an entirely different center console. Serves zero other purpose.

Shame to see such cost cutting measures in an MB as well but I am sure saying it is for business cards makes us feel better lol : )

To be honest, I'm not too shocked assuming they only do this to the A class.
It is basically the entry-level budget MB, starting price around 30-35k (ignoring dealer markups).

Ya but it has the exact same thing in the A 45s, they could had at least printed an amg logo there lol, I am worried they will do the same for the GLE facelift especially if were to get rid of the trackpad.

Ah rest assured (apparently based on this spy shot), you don't have that problem on the GLE facelift: https://images.hgmsites.net/hug/2024...00858378_h.jpg

I've seen quite a few on the 53 and 63's if they are optioned with the Full-Leather Interior. It baffles me how MB decides which cars get what steering wheel cover.

That, and Napa leather on the dash, come with the Napa Premium Diamond stitch interiors.
It finishes the look and is quite nice.

I know right, which is surprising when the latest EQS SUV has a plastic one. EQE SUV, I sort of understand (not really) but EQS SUV, Really?

Agreed. No rhyme or reason with AMG which one gets the leather airbag treatment. Our old SL had it and I ended up buying a leather one for our roadster - so much better

G63 doesn't even have the leather airbag cover. Go figure. There is no reason as to how this is decided.
