Custom Order Questions
I want to custom order a GLE and have a few questions:
- How can I make sure that there are not any options missing
- How can I avoid getting the car way later than expected?

Although shortages seem to be easing up a little, there is no guarantee on either, options or delivery date. Don't have dealer talk you into a large deposit; $1,000 should be enough, it was for me. This way you can always walk away if missing options or delivery taking too long.
I waited 4 months for my order. Finally arrived this past January. Only missing heated and cooled cup holders and wireless charging tray; not a deal breaker. It DID come with HUD and AR Nav, which everyone said wasn't going to happen.
Good luck to you - well worth the wait. Keep us posted.

You won't know what the missing options are until you get further into the order/build process. I had a couple of stipulations where I could refuse the order and get my deposit back (5k) if the car were missing any options I deemed as key or went past the reasonable expected delivery date I gave them. GM agreed and we both signed the contract. Simple. Had the car been missing some key option I wanted and/or gone past the reasonable delivery date. They would have just refunded me and put the vehicle on the floor and someone else would have bought it anyways. It's not like they're stuck with the car and don't know what to do.

That's more true for exotics (Lamborghini - Ad Personam, Ferrari - Tailor Made etc..,) not necessarily MB. In MB it would probably really only apply to a G-Wagon. Not so much to the rest of the line.

If that's the case, the dealer would require an additional disclaimer from the customer, forfeiting the deposit.
Alternatively they would tell you what makes your order a Frankenstein build, and you might decide to purchase a more marketable vehicle.
Always good to have conversations about that, and get any stipulations in writing.
