The passenger front floor cover panel on many Mercedes cars is defective and can allow water to damage the MBUX module, which is about $6k to replace. Mercedes is aware of the issue but will not cover the cost of repair under warranty. The best way to avoid this problem is to have the dealership check the panel and replace it if necessary before any damage is done.
