Different engine’s model codes
Mercedes Benz vehicles have a 6 digit code, with the first three describing their chassis code (167 for the current GLE and GLS) and then a dot and then three digits describing the engine. Does anyone have a full list of those for the current GLE and GLS, non North America models included? Or does anyone know where to find this? Thanks so much.

Thank you so much, @W205C43PFL ! And yes, @chassis , they got exactly what I was asking.
I was curious about this because I saw the vins for a few early built GLSs, right hand drive and presumably UK market. They have non US style vins. So instead of 4JGFF..., they're WDC1679232A002731 and WDC1679592A003187. Both were spotted testing in Alabama at various points, 3187 in Feb 2019 in camo and with felt over the interior and 2731 in May 2021 at Birmingham cars and coffee. I was wondering what engines they are, assuming they were 400ds but wondering if the four numbers after 167 shed any light on that. Turns out they do, looks like 2731 is a 400d and 3187 is a 450. So thank you!
Side note - what is the difference between .957 and .959?

My pleasure, I am glad to help. They are both GLE 450 both 4MATIC both EQ Boost but MB started using .959 for the MY20 year replacing the previous .957. There has to be some underlying changes but I have to look into that when I have time. Remember, GLE 450 was available (V167) in Europe as soon as MY19 so no it is not a code of W166.

Good question, I need to look into those technical details and compare them when I have time, I do appreciate you sharing your findings though : )
