E-ABC Road Surface Scan working?

I know not too many people here have of have had E-ABC, but I'm wondering if my Road Surface Scan function is working. Supposedly in Comfort & Curve modes it is operational between 4 and 112 mph. It uses the stereo camera in the upper windshield to read the road surface and adjust the suspension for undulations. I really don't feel the effect I think it should be having. Anyone else? I have never had it checked out by the dealer, but need to before the warranty expires. Of course, they will say "operating normally."

It's been a year and a half, but my recollection is that it was really good on bumps and potholes on one side of the car, but not so good on speed dips and the like (full width of the car).

What are you noticing?

FWIW It's just the opposite with the Dynamic Plus Package.

The main thing I've noticed is it doesn't mitigate speed bumps much. I'm sure you've seen videos of various systems where the vehicle just seems to float over bumps. I will pay more attention to how one-sided bumps feel.

In my experience, it works well with speed bump that is "wider", and on daytime. On good day, when driving through the speed bump at around 15 - 20 mph, sometimes its almost "cancel" out the bump all together. At dark, the system is almost useless.

It only works in comfort mode, and even then, the ambient light needs to be pretty bright for the stereo cameras to work. I have the system in my GLE and it's amazing - try driving over some speed bumps in comfort mode on a sunny day then you'll know that it's working ... it's not like a normal car

E-ABC & Road Surface Scan

Does this mean you only have Road Surface Scan if you also have the Driving Assistance Package? If so, that would explain why I don't feel its effect, because I don't have that package. Also, the manual indicates it is also active in Curve mode.

Yes, the road surface scan is active on both comfort and curve mode.
As for the driving assistance package,

I just check the manual for the MY20, it doesn't state that.

What I posted was from the '20 manual dated 2019-09-24. Do you have a newer PDF version?

The one I have has "Edition B 2020" on the first page under the barcode, but on the second page, under publication details, it has "As at 03.08.19"

Mine says Edition A 2021, so I guess it is newer. I wonder then if the indication in my manual is corrected from yours?

That's interesting.
I know there was an older version of the PDF from Mercedes that is much smaller (19MB vs 63MB), and the new one has links on the Index page that you can click on.
I also just checked MB website and the latest version for non AMG version is the one I have.
You sure you didn't have the one for MY21? The one downloaded from Mercedes website for 2021 year has "Edition A 2021" on it.

Yes, since it is dated 2021 it probably not for the 2020 model. But I don't think E-ABC was available for the 2021 model, was it? The hard copy manual that came with my car is dated 2/20/18, and makes no mention of Driving Assistance in reference to Road Surface Scan. All very confusing, but I'm going to assume I should have that function even without the DAP.
