2021 GLE 450
Michelin 275/50R20 Cross Climate 2 Vs Michelin Primacy Touring Tire

Need members guidance.

I have the Cooper OEM tires on my 2021 GLE 450. I have 12,766 miles on the tires. Tires are down to 5/32. Terrible. It's a 109H rated tire at 130 MPH.

Has anyone had any experience with the Cross Climate tires in terms of being quiet, good treadwear and all around performance? This tire has a speed rating of 113 and is Y rated 149 MPH. Don't want a tire where the rubber starts getting hard in the cold weather and thus has a bad stopping and driving performance. I really don't need a high speed tire. Guaranteed for 60,000 miles.

What about the Michelin Primacy tire? Mercedes has used these before. It's a 109H rated speed tire at 130 MPH and warranty is 55,000 miles.

Has anyone got experience with both especially the Cross Climate. They are both about the same amount of money. I would hate to put a tire on that makes the ride not as quiet. The Cooper tire was pretty quiet.

Your input would be appreciated. So, which one is better all around?

Toban

I had the primacy before, good tires. Cross Climate is all weather A/S tire, more snow performance oriented, very similar treads to Alpin 5 winter tires. Primacy will give better dry and wet performance. Here is a summary from tirerack tests with the tests:

We currently have the Primacy and have no issues with them and will get them again. MUCH cheaper than the P ZERO tires that came with them and we notice no performance difference. The P ZERO only lasted us 19k miles.
