that's amazing.
I just called three salesmen at three different dealership that I worked with. None of them was able to offer 7% off their in stock GLE 450. ( I explicitly stated that i will buy from them if 7% off and will cancel my 2024 build order which I placed in another dealership)
The discount you were given was great. Just make sure it is for 450, not for 350, as for 350, I can also negotiate to such a discount.

I bought a 450, sticker was 82500. I wouldn’t count on much more of a discount then invoice price, unless incentives are available, MB does not have a big holdback on these vehicles, maybe $600. I got mine at invoice.

Invoice is 5-6% off window. If you are negotiating asked to see the info from the dealer. If they are serious they will show it to you, if it’s 5-6% off sticker then you are good.

You guys are lucky!
How could you negotiate that more?
I talked a dealer for a mspr $78,795 2023 GLE 450 today. I offered $71,000 and was turned down immediately.
This dealer has 26 GLEs in stock. 20 350. 4 450 and 2 GL something.
The maximum i could get from them was $3,500 off

I think anything off of msrp is good. If you haven't already, definitely shop around and pit the dealers against each other.

I checked 4 nearby dealership's inventory. All have a few 450 with higher msrp (around $80,000, one even has a $92,000 msrp 450). For this price range, it is quite difficult for these dealerships to quickly sell them at this moment.

7-10% is something I don’t think is going to happen. Pics or it didn’t happen, lol. That would eat their hold back which is small as well as cost them additional $. Your 4k off is darned good these days!

Unless there is some trunk money involved... MB Factory to dealer incentives are usually pretty difficult to get details on so offers from other US cities can help in getting an idea. just the fact that $4k off is doable indicates to me that there is some trunk money from MB - 10% off, if true, means that many dealers are trying to keep "most of it" (whatever "it" is).

The only way I see discounts ranging 5% - 10% off MSRP is if the dealership/s has the cars on consignment which was typical in the old days when a local business person owned the dealer. He would rely on the manufacturer's specials, discounts and incentives to pass along to the customer (the good'ol days when you would make a ridiculous offer, walk away if denied, only to be chased immediately to return as management had "accepted the offer").
Now a days, the dealerships are owned by huge investment consortiums for no more than 4 years looking to get their ROI and then quickly squeeze as much out, to then sell to the next investment company in line. They control all aspects of pricing. Any thing above their threshold on trade in or below their threshold on new/used sale is immediately flagged and the dealers are come down on hard. This was my case in the last 2 car purchases. The dealerships don't want to go through this hassle and rather lose you as a customer to the competition (try walking away now a days) than to risk reprimand from the investment company. Was thereby born "Internet Price".
If you are getting +/- $3000 off MSRP, sign the dotted line.
