Wife said car going back after releasing the brake, particularly on the uphill road .

Wife said car going back after releasing the brake, particularly on the uphill road .

Brand New..just 800.miles.
is it normal?

Yes, it's normal. She can use the brake hold feature to prevent it.

There's also Hill Start Assist that holds the brakes for a few seconds to give you time to move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal. It engages automatically after coming to a full stop on a hill and gives you about 3 seconds. The other option for an infinite hold is the HOLD function. Something you wanna learn how to use. A small number of people struggle with it.

This only happens when auto start stop is on. Since the engine is off, it doesn’t really hold the brake for you when on an incline.

Also, my experience with Hill Start Assist (different than the HOLD function as other has mentioned) is that it does not always engaged, which is why I usually use the HOLD function on hill stop.
