What type of battery does the 2024 GLE 450 have?
I have purchased the NOCO GENIUS1 charger/maintainer to use when the car is garaged for extended periods. The device offers regular, AGM, and lithium-ion 12V modes. The car's owner's manual specifies that the battery is AGM or Li-ion. How can I accurately determine which technology the battery utilizes to select the appropriate mode on the charger?
The charger/maintainer sold by MB appears to be a rebrand of CTEK, and its specifications suggest that it is compatible with both lithium and lead-acid batteries, but there is no mention of AGM.

The vehicle is equipped with a battery using AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology or a lithium-ion battery.

Most tech filled modern cars will have a AGM battery. You can also triple check the batter is under your drivers seat take a look at your model # or whatever is visible then you can confirm for sure. Your 48V batter is just a pack that you dont charge its a "hybrid" your regular standard 50+ year old type car battery is the 12v.

Regarding the OP question, read the manual in detail for charging recommendations. Agree with the suggestion to look under the driver’s seat to see the battery label for type.
Or search at mbparts.mbusa.com and use the number you found in a google search for an aftermarket battery, which will answer the original question. Or simply call your nearest dealer service dept. If the clowns there aren’t helpful, keep calling dealers until you find a helpful human. It might take some time.

Except for tech-filled cars that have LiFePO4 batteries like the Cayenne.

The Mercedes 12v battery was, and still is an AGM.
