GLE 450
Long warm up
Traded our 2020 450 for the 2024 450. The 2024 is a bit smoother in general and we are very pleased so far. One strange thing and difference between the two is it idols at a higher RPM for about a minute 20 or 30 seconds from a cold start. Our 2020 did not do that, rapid idol at start was maybe 10 or 20 seconds. Is this normal?
Don't want to bring back to dealer for this.

Yes, that time frame is normal. My previous BMW and Acura all did that too, sometimes longer. If time allows, I usually wait 20-30 sec for the RPM to settle before I drive off.

I think it's a method to get the catalytic converter to fire up.

warm up (higher idle) takes approximately 30 - 40 seconds on my 2021

2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE 450
That’s normal. It usually starts at 1000 rpm and gradually goes down to around 500 rpm in a matter of 20-30 seconds. GLE 450 manufactured in August 2019 here.

MY2024 GLE 450
My starts at about 1.5k rpm for about 30 seconds, then rapidly goes down to about 700. Totally normal in my understanding.
