Hi, I have discovered that some stitches on my back seat is starting to get undone. The car is 2.5 years old, 24 000 miles. I just bought the car used. Napa leather (please find pics below).

Does anyone know if these stitches are for design purposes only, without any other function? I don't see any leather parts being separated. Is this an easy fix? Any help much appreciated.

If you are in the US, new car warranty will still apply even though you are the second owner. The dealer will most likely replace the seat.

For repair, leather upholstery shop should be able to handle it, if searching for vehicle upholstery repair returns nothing try searching convertible top repair as they may be able to assist as well.

Stitching failed on three of the four seats on ours. Every seat other than the driver seat and we rarely have anyone in the other three seats. Dealer replaced them under the factory warranty. They did state that the CPO warranty that comes into effect after the original factory warranty will not cover them as it would be considered normal wear.

Thank you all for your answers. I'm based in Sweden and factory warranty is only 2 years unfortunately..

Seats are a well known fail on 167. Among other fails on this platform.
