Question Purchase advise needed

I'm currently looking at a 2020 vs a 2021 GLE350 v167 (specs of both cars appear below).

What criteria should I use on which car to buy?

Don’t touch a 2020, it was the first model year of a failed new product launch for MB.

unless you have a purpose for the first one with the 3rd row seating. The second one would be my pick too.

2nd has trailer hitch too. Aftermarket hitch will cost a lot and won't be anywhere near the same as factory hitch.

Thank you for your feedback.

I was told that having 3rd row seats is a very rare option, especially with a pano roof as well.

To me, it's a trade-off between a 3rd row seat and a driver assistance package.

Driver assistance package seems to be more important to have.

I’d look at the carfax for both vehicles then I’d consider mileage. My preference would be the 2021 vehicle as it’s newer and I’m no fan of the 3rd row package it’s very small and I think it deletes the spare tire in lieu of run flat tires. However if you need a 3 rd row option cause you need extra seating area maybe something to consider.

And if both are CPO, the 2021 will still have an extra year of original warranty if it's still under 50k miles. While the 2020 is either expired or will be expiring this year.

Love my 2020 450 - can't speak to the 350.

2024 GLE 450
I would choose the 2nd one because of drivers assistance package.
Not sure what your situation are, however I would suggest considering if the custom ordering the 2024 model year would be feasible. The fully loaded GLE 450 is enjoyable.

I'd be leaning toward the one with the driver's assistant package, but I wouldn't commit until I've driven them both and made that comparison.

Lmao yeah they wouldn’t be looking at the oldest 350s of this gen if a custom order, fully loaded, 450 was feasible. In a perfect world…

Neither appear to have the multibean headlights which can be programmed for the intelligent lighting. The ILS is great to have.

I don't see option 608 "Automatic High Beam Control"; I believe can't have ILS without that.

That is my understanding as well. ILS is the best feature I would miss. I do not even see the option for adaptive high beam assist listed on those either. I think that became standard in 2022 but was an option prior.

You are correct. Just looked at my 2022 sticker. It is listed as standard.

Front wheels feel "wobbly" when brakes are applied around 70 mph

I ended up purchasing the 2021 GLE350 with the Driver Assistance package.

The car is wonderful except that the front wheels feel "wobbly" when brakes are applied at or over a speed of 70 mph.

Warped rotors would cause the steering wheel to vibrate when the brakes are applied, which isn't the case.

If the front tires were off balance, the steering wheel would vibrate, which isn't the case.

Any ideas?

How many miles are on this car? Please post well lit, focused photos of both front tire tread areas. Turn the steering wheel all the way to one side, take a photo, then do the same with the other side, and post the photos here.

yeah, That's why I suggested to take it in ASAP. These SUV's are heavy on the front end and steering, unlike their Predecessors in the ML series. My 2011 ML felt light in the steering compared to the GLE's.

The car Vibrates? WHERE?
Be very specific otherwise whoever you take it to will GOUGE your wallet checking everything possible and then some.

Where do you feel it?
Only a few points of body interacte with car.
Feet on floor and pedals.
Butt and Back touch seat
Hands on Steering wheel

Possible causes:
Brakes - rotor issue, sticky caliper slide pins or caliper piston.
Tire problem - Cupped or belt slip or flat spotted or out of balance
Improper lug bolt torq WAY too much or WAY too little
Wheel problem - bent, dented, out of round, Trueness with respect to hub surface, Hub bore (aftermarket not stock) too large so wheels no centered something on hub so it is not flat
Front And/or Rear suspension & Steering - Something loose or worn or broken
Out of alignment
Wheel bearings going out.
Shocks - Bad or soon to be bad.
Prop shaft - those rubber connections, the center support thingy, out of balance

THere are more but probably something from above/
