No Active Lane Change assist on 2021 gle uk models
Hi hope some on in the UK shed some knowledge. Bought a used 2021 Gle 350d prem plus. Love it. Love the driving assistance too although not as accurate as tesla or a volvo it works well.
now I notice there is no option of Active Lane change assist on the assistance menu. I thought it comes as a package for premium plus model driving assistance. I dont really see it useful as I can change lane faster than the system. but want to know its not something missing because of any reset/coding done by prev ownership.

Some international law (a UN resolution) changed the rules a few years back. In order for cars to have active lane change assist, they need to know if the driver is holding the wheel. The 2021 GLE doesn't have capacitive sensors in the wheel, it lost the lane change ability. I have a 2022 and had the same thing. Mercedes cars actually lost active parking assist also for some time, but they figured out a workaround.
