GLE Europe shipping and 450 manufacturing time

Does anyone know if the shipping route to EU from Tuscaloosa, AL is always the same and what is the typical route? Will the Baltimore Key bridge collapse affect it?

I ordered a GLE 450 with the straight six in the beginning of March and the dealer said there are some sort of manufacturing problems with the petrol engine which has pushed the manufacturing slot to May or June. No problems with diesel engines, it seems that they might prioritize diesel a bit as it is what everyone gets here in Europe. Same time, if I understand correctly, the four and six cylinder petrol engines are popular in US. Anyone know anything about this claimed manufacturing delays in petrols currently?

Mine came through Bremershaven, as I think they all do. Not sure what port it left at though.
Hopefully by now they at least have truckers to deliver them to the dealership, instead of letting it sit in a salty harbour for months

If I gathered the correct information, most Tuscaloosa cars to Europe are exported to Brunswick not Baltimore. Either way, the closure of the port in Baltimore in the foreseeable future probably means cargo jams in all other ro-ro and container ports on the East Coast.

Anyway, if anyone knows anything about possible manufacturing delays regarding the straight six GLE 450, it would be good to know.

Yes, they stick to the same ports and as far as I know, MB USA imports/exports from Brunswick. In Germany it's Bremerhaven. Since you seem to be in Estonia, it will be a different port. Not sure where they unload yours. But as said, the Key bridge collapse will affect other East coast ports. Baltimore has a car terminal and VPC, so they will have to reroute cargo to other ports at least until the debris has been removed and vessels can pass again.

There must be parts coming into Louisiana to manufacture the vehicle too so expect manufacturing delays as well.

Brief interview with the CEO of MB USA. Too early to tell what the impact will be according to him. Worth noting that Baltimore is a major port for MB vehicles coming in from Europe for distribution on the East coast, so those vehicles will have to be sent to other ports such as Brunswick obviously putting a crunch on the capacity of those other ports. Most likely gonna see big delays both ways for people in the USA, primarily East coast, getting their vehicles that are produced in Europe and shipped to them as well as folks in Europe getting their cars that are produced in the USA.
