Advice needed - 13 month GLE350 out of service for 2+ months
Hi all- I am based in Colorado and had to bring my 13 month old 2023 GLE350 into the dealership because the check engine light came on which lead to the diagnosis that the entire engine control unit needs to be replaced and they cannot get the part for 2.5+ months. This work will be covered under warranty. The dealer gave me a glb loaner - not ideal for my family but it’s free- and told me I had to submit a case to MB, which I did, asking for compensation for loss of use of vehicle or a buyback.
MB is analyzing/processing my request and said it’ll take 6-8 weeks but have warned me I might be entitled to nothing, which seems insane. Is there something I should be doing differently - should I be pushing for a buy back or gearing up to engage a lawyer if they’re going to try to lowball me? TIA!

What are the Colorado Lemon Laws looking like? Seems like in some states if the car is in the shop for more than X days in a year then it qualifies as a lemon and is therefor subject to dealer buyback required. That'd be the first place to start.

He paid for a GLE and gets to drive a GLB. Colorado Lemon law only applies in the first 12 months of ownership. The owner should pursue a buyback with Mercedes.

A GLB is not a GLE. I received a GLB loaner for my S class while a dealership searched unsuccessfully for the cause of a check engine light issue. It took two weeks (they were unsuccessful) and I couldn’t wait to get rid of it. Got a good feel for my wife’s car. So far so good with the 450. She disliked the GLB almost as much as I did.

It's been a while since you first posted.
IT shouldn't take that long to get a computer module since the vehicles are assembled in Alabama.
