Brake Fluid Replacement Procedure

Anybody got a procedure for doing this on the V167? Has anybody done it?

I have the 331.0 MB fluid ready to go any I'm wondering if a pressure bleeder is a must or can it be done with vacuum at the wheels, or even the old fashioned 2-person pedal push method.

Thank you.

I do it with a large (2 or 3l) vacuum canister. Vacuumed the old fluid out of the reservoir, refilled with new fluid then went to the farthest wheel (passenger rear) and connected the hose to the bleeder(s) and vacuumed until clear then proceeded to the next furthest etc while checking and topping of the reservoir. It gives me a chance to clean my wheels from brake dust while they are off. I have vacuum pumps and a compressor in my garage so it isn't like I needed to purchase anything other than the large vacuum canister to do it.

The procedure is fairly standard on most vehicles. I used the cannister method when I did the brake service about 6 months ago. I posted some notes on the forum at https://mbworld.org/forums/g-class-w...d-service.html

Use the DIY in my sig. Very easy procedure for all German cars.

I quit doing the vacuum method years ago, because too often it doesn't bleed properly. The vacuum "deconsolidates" air bubbles, making them cling to interior surfaces, instead of consolidating them, pumping them out as bigger bubbles.
In other words, it works okay if you don't have any air in the lines. But if you do, you need a pressure bleeder to do a complete job.

Now I use a Motive Products - 0100 European Power Brake Bleeder Kit https://a.co/d/7ywTFbT

The whole process is easier with pressure than with vacuum in most cases. And more reliable.

Consistent with all the research I did before buying the Motive system. I had no problems with it, and is the method described in the WIS/ASRA documents.
