Painting plastic rear shroud

Has anyone attempted to paint the plastic shroud in the rear bumper? Or is there an oem part that replaces the plastic? I’m looking for ideas, as I hate any and all black plastic. I’m not sure whether it would look better painted black or color matched.

Color matched would look good. I think cost effective way for you would be to get it wrapped. Im pretty sure you’d be the first.

It can be done but will require a decent amount of prep and could be costly. I’m not a body shop guy but when my family had a Macan S with the black plastic side blades my wife hated them.

Consulted with body shop and from what I remember it involved removing the plastic, sanding it smooth, primer, paint, clear. At the end of the day, we didn’t opt for it. Looked in to the possibility of color matched vinyl wrap/vinyl spray and unless things have changed, those options don’t exist.
