2024 GLE 450E engine sound
Not sure if this is normal, but when the car is out of battery I heard excessive engine sound at low speed (especially right after cold start). It feels to me like the engine is working more than sufficient to support that low speed. But also I don't have other reference since this is my first Benz and hybrid car.

When the battery is near/fully depleted, the engine can charge the battery to support auxiliary functions and driving under light load and speed. This is what you are experiencing - normal from what I have been told. I notice this same thing when I start the car cold with a fully (or nearly) depleted battery. Loving this car so far after 6000km
