Question 2021 vs 2024 GLE 350

Just purchased a 2024 GLE 350 yesterday and will pick it up tomorrow. The one thing I noticed while test driving the new car was that the auto off engine feature at red lights is noticeably smoother when the engine restarts. Is this due to the mild hybrid system that is present in the 2024 model that wasn’t in the 2021? I also see that the MBUX system has been changed, hopefully upgraded. Can you please give me some insight on that and any new features. Looks almost identical to my 2021, if there are any other changes that I may not know about, or any useful information please feel free to share. My 2021 came with the 20 inch Cooper tires which I was not originally happy about, however, they proved to be just fine. My 2024 has the 20 inch Michelin tires which would have been my first choice. Thanks for all the useful information that this forum has always provided.

Yes. The engine turns off before the vehicle comes to a stop now.

It is the same system as the W223 and W206 just horizontal instead of vertical.

Thanks for the info. Does the mild hybrid make the GLE slightly quicker from a dead stop, what improvements does that hybrid system actually provide in daily driving??

Yes, it does and lag is less as a result.

Improvements is quicker response when you need to suddenly accelerate, yes turbo lag is there but the vehicle is able to propel forward with the electric motor first before the turbo and engine responses. Daily driving wise, the start/stop is smoother as mentioned.
