Cooled seats suck?

I loved the ventilated seats in my 2020 e63 with the performance seats and nappa leather (as mentioned above). These worked great as opposed to the current feature in my GLE580. Like a lot of things on the newer MBs it feels like another victim of cost cutting.

Dont be confused that the seats don’t cool. Nowhere in any mb literature has there been mention of cooling for the seats. They are ventilated. I’m sure we all know the difference. It’s the difference between a fan and an air conditioner. We just need to make sure if we want a certain option, that the car model contained that option. Sure, other cars have cooled seats, likely patented and why mb can’t do certain things. Or perhaps stupid European rules are why it was never implemented. I’m pretty sure I’m not buying a ford to experience their cooled seats.
But I will say my seats are great and my ventilated seats have always worked as advertised. Run the air and it pulls the cool cabin air through the seat. E55, E63, s55 all cool the seats. As mentioned above, when you use the key to roll down all the windows, it will even start to ventilate the seat because it’s assuming you roll the windows down because it was warm inside.…
I don’t understand why nobody gets this. The Mercedes seat tech has been the same for over twenty years and can be researched very easily.
First world problems for sure

because of the absolutely stupid rule with zero ability to edit yesterday, I have to say that with the seats in the old car when I said “all cool”, because they are pulling cool air from the air conditioner in the cabin through the perforated seat surface. I want to remove the word cool and add in the word ventilate so as not to confuse anyone. Maybe, since the moderators need a job to do, they can go in and fix that in my thread. Or just turn the added 1990’s features back in like any normal forum would have…. I’d say this was another well intended post ruined by stupid forum rules, control and moderation.

I'd agree they're awful and not even worth getting on the current GLEs if not part of a package. The ventilated seat fan was making a rubbing noise in my 2024 GLE580 so my dealer took the set apart (2x) and supposedly fix it. Given how little air they move I suspect the fix was disconnecting the fan completely ![wall](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/banghead.gif)

Who here is crafty enough to figure out how we can redirect the rear floor vents into the seats with some type of 3D printed ducting? Like this: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/tool...ir-conditioned

2023 GLE 450 4matic
Before the 2020 GLE 350, I had a 2017 Buick Enclave. It had cooled seats that worked very well. The 350 didn't have cooled seats and I missed them a lot so they were on my must have list when it was time for a new car. My opinion of the seats in the 2023 GLE 450 is they're better than nothing, but not as good as what I had in the Buick.

Better yet, get a 1976 Buick. They had the best air conditioning ever!
Think of all the money you'd save versus a new Buick....if your primary consideration in cars is a cold vent.😀

2024 GMC Canyon Denali..... 2018 Audi SQ5
My GMC Canyon has the best airflow of anything else I've owned. I have them set to come on with the AC. 105 today and the air up my back feels wonderful. The AC is OK but not great. One more refrigerant ban/emissions target change and the AC will probably blow warm air.

The seat ventilation on my Cayenne was okay on Max, but it sounded like somebody had unleashed a Hoover in the backseat. The GLE is similarly effective but quieter.
I think I found a solution so I don't have to worry about my next car's seat ventilation. Just get this:
In the old days I would have gone to JC Whitney but there are still sources out there. Yay.

My BIL has a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe. Ventilated seats are amazing on it. You can actually feel the blower on all three speed levels. The intake is also right next to the footwell blower, so it sucks the cold air right up on a hot day.
