Is there anyway to check the status of your new build online without having to bother and go through your salesperson from the dealer?

 

no but if you know what vessel it is on, you could look up public data on that vessel and its ETA.

 

I'm in the U.S and I thought the GLE SUV's were assembled here in Alabama.

 

If I recalled correctly on reading somewhere, it has to be shipped back to Germany (not sure what they do there) before it gets shipped to USA, even if it was assembled in the USA.

 

Your vehicle will get delivered from Alabama facility unfortunately no play by play like with BMW. Only way to get updates is through the dealership. My AMG was built las week and I’m awaiting delivery. The Sales Advisor emailed me that it should be delivered this week and I was informed of the initial approximate build date which was pretty accurate. Now pricing is different story there are different incentives and rates that come out every month so hopefully when your vehicle is delivered you get best deal.

 

Somewhat... The US GLEs are assembled in Alabama, then get shipped to a Vehicle Preparation Center, which can be GA, MD, CA or they can do the prep work at their Marshaling yard in AL, skipping this step.

Unfortunately, there is no way to get status updates without talking to your sales person or any other "friend" working at a MB dealership with access to Netstar. If your production date is a few months away, I'd ask your sales person once a month to send you a pdf of "Vehicle Information" report from the Netstar. Closer to the production date, weekly or bi-weekly. It's really not a big deal for a sales person to pull that report for you. Many also care about post delivery surveys, so ...

Did they give you assigned PO #? It should be on a configuration sheet you signed when P&S was signed.

 

I did get what looks like an itemized list of everything going into the vehicle. It's about 3 pages long and it has a PO# at the top.
