Unhappy Transparent Hood and handwriting keyboard now inop

Our 2024 GLE 450 rolled off the showroom floor with the Transparent Hood feature working just fine. I tried to use it last week to navigate a pot hole in a parking lot and it is now inoperative. The button is now greyed out. Even if I select OFFROAD in the DYNAMIC select system, it stays greyed-out. The car just makes the error boing noise when I tap it. The handwriting keyboard via the trackpad has also disappeared. Both features are still in the digital owner's manual but no clue when they disappeared and/or went inop in MBUX. Anyone have any info? It is infuriating that features on the vehicle can just come and go at MB's whim and you have no idea. I asked our service writer at MB and was just told he had no clue and would have a concierge reach out to me. That was days ago.

I just checked my 2024 GLE 450. Put it in off road mode and the transparent hood feature appears to be working fine.

Took the GLE 450 in for its first A service and had them ck for a fix on the transparent hood disablement and the handwriting on keypad issues. They had no fix. They say that MB acknowledges that some vehicles developed this issue and they have a "remedy in development", per LI82.85-P-078156. They'll let me know when a fix is available. Yeah. Sure. I gave up and traded the 2024 GLE 450 in on a new 2024 GLE 580. All my problems are gone. And the trade was totally worth it since I also gained a few extras... like 4-zone A/C. Now I just hope the problem doesn't reinfect the new car.

That's one way to fix an issue. 🤣

Congrats. I haven't seen a single 2024 580 on the road yet and only a few pre-facelift 580s in the wild. Unicorns.
