Locked with key inside
I sometimes unintentionally leave the key inside when I park my 2024 GLE 450 in my garage. This morning I found it locked with the key inside. Usually it (and my other MB) can't be locked when the key is in the vehicle. Fortunately I had another key and was able to open it.
Also, I would note that I recently had "A" service and they replaced the (8 month old) key battery. A few days after that I had a one-time problem where I could not open the car with the key remotely (this time it was outside the car). I opened it with the manual key, and eventually got the remote key working again by removing and reinstalling the battery. Any thoughts?

It seems like after changing the battery the keyfob is misbehaving. The car didn't recognize the keyfob inside, that's why the car could lock.
Maybe try a different battery? The one they put in could be old. It's not hard to replace the battery yourself.

There are at least two in-cabin receivers that sense the presence of a key.
If a fresh key battery doesn't work, I'd be concerned that one of those receivers isn't functioning correctly.
