I have it in Canada on my 2024 GLE450e.

I haven’t found a practical use for it. Maybe the position of our stop lights make it unnecessary.

I had it on my earlier GLE as well. Could have been my 2020... I have an intersection that the sun blows out my eyesight and I can't see the traffic light. I used to like to use it there. I did see something about not avail everywhere so maybe it's a US thing.

The latest I see from MB is you must have Augmented Reality to use it.

Yes it shares the same camera as the AR feature.

The most practical use I’ve found is sometimes it produces beautiful images of the sky / clouds which are nice to look at while stopped.

I just took delivery of a 2024 GLE 450 with AR and it doesn't seem to have this feature. I can't find a setting to enable it if it's buried in there somewhere. My 2023 did and while it's not a particularly useful feature, it seems to be in line with my opinion that the "New" MBUX system is a big step backward.

I guess alongside with car wash mode missing and less customizable instrument cluster but hey at least you have MBUX 3 ( I think? ) if so you have Routines.

Missing the selection of instrument clusters but it does have car wash mode. My gripe with the infotainment so far is the look of the radio screen. The new Sport Mode display is horrendous!

I see, then you are likely to have MBUX 2.0

I watched a Nick O'leary video that had NTG7 and the traffic light view was there. Although it was a UK spec'd car and not a GLE, everything looked the same. The only major difference was he has the dashcam activated. I'm going to purchase the dashcam and do a $200 experiment to see if the traffic light view shows up. It's not a big deal to me if it doesn't but will be good information to post for the group.

I remember MBUSA market vehicles also had it before, sadly, it might be possible MBUSA discontinued it. Hopefully not though.

In Europe as you know, the traffic lights are on the right side while in North America, it is in front of the intersection so traffic light view is especially handy in Europe.

I have no doubt that in Europe I'd be letting someone else drive.

Purchased the dashcam option. MB downloaded it to the car in the background and it seems to work fine. I can confirm however this does not reactivate the traffic light view. For the life of me, I don't understand why Mercedes removes features for no good reason. This reinforces my opinion that MBUX 2 is a significant step backward from MBUX 1 and greatly detracts from the newer car.

One of the complaints from Consumer Reports and JD Powers was that the new tech was too difficult to understand, leading to their downgrades in what they erroneously market as "reliability" reports. (They aren't - they are - and were - previously called Customer Satisfaction Surveys.) (CR has a bigger downgrade because of the cupholders and the wrong green color, but that's CR for you.)
It also confounded several members of the forum who would rage against the machine.

Thus, the dumbed down version with MBUX2. And we do see fewer complaints stemming from deep dive menus, although in some ways they aren't avoidable.

MBUX 3 removed more features but added Routines so one step forward I guess two step back.

They also further reduced customizations. Like the understated screen I heard.
