Liftgate rattle - easy fix
There is an easy DIY fix. The liftgate has "ears" on both sides that engage with bumpstops inside the doorframe.
Use a T30 to loosen the retaining screws (you don't need to remove them), and extend the ears. The ears are notched, so you can feel how far you are extending them and make sure both sides match. Extending it three notches solved my problem. It took all of two minutes.
This is good engineering. Thank you, Mercedes!
