The Brit's.
They are strict on noise and pedestrian safety. They just outlawed a Pirelli tire model because of its noise levels.

it did make me think of keeping my GLE450. I can reject the vehicle as I have proof that their website said I could add it before I bought it. MB have admitted the wrong information on their website. Crazy thing is third party companies can add it !

I don't think it's that as it was on older models and is on the GLE63 and other current models. It's just MB being idiots I guess.

it was a general comment about "The Brits," not your car or order.
And their sometimes strange (to me and some reviewer's) auto requirements.
Changes annually. @RemoveBeforeRace on YouTube, a UK channel, laments this.

I have stories about Positive Grounds.....

I mean if DISTRONIC is a big deal for you, yes keep the GLE 450, the GLE 53 is a much more entertaining vehicle though.
If you are uncertain if you will regret, don't get it. Buyer's remorse is not fun, I've been through many.

That would be a hard no for me. Distronic, or adaptive cruise control is one of the options I would have to have. It works especially well in stop and go traffic.

It is nice to have on long commutes and stop and go traffic. Especially after a long day.

Very true. I was suprised how much better it was. The tech is much better than my GLE450 (2019) although the touch buttons take a bit of getting used to. The GLE53 drives so much better. I guess as I was expecting massage seats and distronic from day one and the fact the sunroof didn’t work properly it made the initial handover a little flat although it’s a lovely car. At the end of the day the GLE53 is a lovely car but MB are stupid not to have speed assist given everything is on the car to allow it.

It really is a MB UK issue, no other country is like that for some reason (the reason another forum member already stated) they kept limiting the availability of options across the lineup.
The upgraded tech is nice but if you don't like the capacitive touch, it can get annoying which sounds like you will need to get used to, the customizations of the MBUX 2.0 is also less for the instrument cluster, are you really sure you like that?

I prefer the old buttons but can live with the touch. Haven’t noticed less customisations to be honest.

I see, then both aren't issues for you.

Strangely the model year specs changed yesterday and you can now spec the driving assistanxe package again. Not sure you'll get it though.

Only two days ago Merc said it wasn't available. !

That is confusing and frustrating at the same time, confirm with dealership through Netstar.

Update: It seems that 2024 models cant be coded by BenzNinja nor a chap in the UK. MB haven't licenced it to the USA and UK yet. Crazy thing is MB are having to take back my brand new GLE53 as it doesn't have a simple feature that can be added via coding and a small parts change.
