Extended warranty question - 2024 GLE
Extended warranty question - 2024 GLE
I am in the process of getting extended warranty 5/75 from a MB dealer. When I reviewed the contract document, it states that "5.1. Maintenance service as recommended in the Vehicle’s Maintenance
Manual can be performed by any qualified service outlet."
I am performing oil/filter, air filter and most of services. Would the condition on 5.1 of the contract will impact me as I am not using a service outlet (dealer or Indy)
Please advise. Thanks

The Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act of 1975 states that the service does not need to be performed at a Dealership. But the required services and correct materials (oil etc) are still required. You'll need to keep/provide receipts.
However, a MB service department will have to validate the service, to keep the warranty intact.
It's best to coordinate with the Service Manager to ensure that the documents you present are sufficient and acceptable.
In the past, the Dealership would review the receipts and enter the service into their system, so there would be no question about completed services.
Now I don't know how they would do this.
So, coordinate with the Service Manager to verify that they can input your service in the System.
