GLE 450e forcing combustion engine on
For about the last week I’ve been getting this message and the car automatically goes into hybrid mode. Typically, I put the car into hybrid mode manually once or twice a week when I’m on a short highway drive. Interestingly, it will stay in electric mode most mornings. But in the late afternoons it will instantly turn the ICE on with that message. At first I was thinking it was due to it being pretty hot, in the high 80s or 90s, and needing the ICE to power the AC. But if that was the case, I feel like other people who live in hot climates would be reporting this all the time and I haven’t seen it.
My other theory was that my current tank of gas was filled in early April and the car knows it’s old and wants to use it up. But that wouldn’t explain why in the early mornings it’s letting me drive around town in EL mode.
Everything seems to be working fine so I’m not too concerned. But anyone have any insight into what’s actually going on?

Maybe it wants you to bring the engine up to full operating temperature for a while. Get rid of condensation, continue break-in or something.
