MB Basic Carrier vs. Thule/Yakima

Anyone using the MB Basic Carrier roof rails or third party Thule/Yakima bars have any feedback/preferences? Just purchased a Thule Force M box and am considering Thule versus OEM for rails. I have a 2026 GLE 53 AMG SUV.

Thanks!

I recently put Thule AeroBlade Edge crossbars on my 2020 GLE 450 and very happy with them. Part no. 7503B and 7504B. The B stands for the color black.

The crossbars have a decent low profile and appear to be very well attached to the GLE’s roof rails.

Thanks for your reply. I ended up with the Thule WingBar Evo. I liked the look of the Edge, but the straps that hold onto the rail looked like they may fail long term. Don’t love the wind noise (had almost none before with the Acoustic Comfort Package), but it’s only for the summer months in our house.

For what it's worth, I've had the AeroBlade Edge since October 2021 on my 2020 GLE, and the straps appear to have held up well. Haven't removed them since installation. That's a few years of north east winters/snow storms, including lots of time in Canada with plenty of snow accumulation on the roof. There is a bit of additional wind noise (I also have the Acoustic Comfort Package), but you get used to it.

Good to know, thank you! I assume everything Thule is fairly high quality. I plan on keeping mine on only for the summer months so will likely be subject to repeated removals.
