Gle 53 transmission oil temp

I have a 2022 GLE 53 and the transmission temp doesn’t get up to normal levels quickly although its above 40°C 100°F where I live. It only reaches 80°C 175°F after 15 or more minutes of driving. It annoys me because I want to drive in sport mode and aggressive but can’t until it reaches good temp. Any advice is appreciated!

That seems like a normal behaviour for MBs. It is the same with my C 43, MB uses a specific fluid that doesn't heat up quickly to prevent overheat but as a result, it does not heat up quickly from cold either.

I would be more concerned that the engine oil (and all engine related components) are at operating temperature before "spirited" driving.

Of course, but engine oil gets to normal temps in a couple minutes so it isn’t an issue. Are you saying I don't have to wait for the trans oil temp to start to have fun?

The transmission is at operating temperature at about 120F. You don't have to wait till it gets closer to 180F. Keep the temp display up and once the drivetrain shows white, you are at operating temperature. Take it easy while either the engine or transmission still shows in blue.

Thanks for the insight!
