Rain Sensor - Always On?
I would like to use a mirror tap as to power my V1G2. The rain sensor in the mirror cluster seems like the perfect solution. However, after testing by turning off the car, the RD remains powered. Does anyone know if the rain sensor is always on, or does it shut down after a while?
I don't know the exact answer, but FYI the rain sensor is what is used to power the FitCamX dashcam, and I'm almost certain that dashcam is not powered while the car is off. They sell a separate hardwire kit if you want to enable Parking mode.
See https://fitcamx.com/products/fitcamx...40973018333356 and search for "rain" and "parking".

From what I understand, FitCamX’s wiring harness handles power to the device. The cam is collision sensitive and turns on to record. It’s always on, but may be in a low power state.
