Can't find where I had previously read or seen it before but has anyone heard anything about MBUSA bringing back the 6 cylinder diesel for the GLE? There was something a lil while ago about a GLE350d being submitted for EPA testing.

Has anyone heard anything lately? I ended up jumping ship to a GLE 350 gas engine.

Although the numbers seem too good for the larger GLS, could this be the announced upcoming GLS 350d with the 9-speed?

I recently moved from a 2013 GL350BT to a 2016 GLE300d. Much better mileage than than GL350BT with my mostly around town driving. But the 4-banger (emphasis BANGER) is much louder and obtrusive than the "can't-even-tell-if-it's-running" turbo six. I tolerate the noise for my even less often visits for fill-ups.

Ordering a 300d after having a '13 350BT. Without getting into a GLS or moving to Canada, not much choice when it comes to diesels.
