ml gle designo

I have a dilemma with the colour choice for the designo interior in my future car. I'm ordering a car and i'm just lost on whether to choose the porcelain interior or the espresso brown interior. If anybody happens to have the porcelain designo interior please chime in as to how difficult it is to clean. Also has anybody gotten a dirty porcelain dinamica headliner, how hard is it to clean.

The porcelain (Ivory/Ash-like) is very nice on any car/SUV but maintenance is going to take more effort regardless of leather type and manufacturer.

I wouldn't get this if you have kids. If you wear a lot of blue jeans that's a factor too... but just make sure to wipe the the seats down often. If you leave blue jean stains for more than a few weeks, some wait a month, it's going to stain permanently.

You cannot go wrong with espresso but it's a color that's more mature so keep that in mind. I had a 300e with tobacco brown interior and it was beautiful. But again, it's a mature color and perfect if you smoke a pipe.

As for headliners, I have no opinion other than having a light colored headliner is my preference because it gives you a nice airy feel. I do not like black headliners because it's cold and very claustrophobic. And so common. A light headliner is also found in Range Rovers and it's such a nice feel... hard to explain.

Anyway, good luck and hope others chime in.

thank you count laszlo. just wondering, do you know if the dinamica sun visors will get dirty from frequent use? Would you say that espresso would emanate an interior that is classier?

In my opinion both colors fit the term classy; with individual lifestyle attributes: espresso is astute, mature and estate, whereas porcelain is clean, modern and metropolitan. So it comes down to what your lifestyle expectation is.

I do not have any hands on experience with dinamica but would assume a light color and supple texture would be prone, but at the same time, I've had many light colored headliners and visors and never had an issue with them getting dirty.

With a light color and interior regardless of fabric and textures, things can happen from accidental make up to pen marks. It just comes with the territory and a risk one needs to take.

I've overthought all of the above so many times and always ended up just going with gutt and what made me feel good in the end.

Yes, it's a difficult decision. I am going through a similar dilema myself right now.

Does anybody know why the Black is no longer available?

Hopefully it's just a temporary shortage of black designo leather!

After 3 years living with the Grey leather, and having cleaned the seats with leather wipes maybe 4~5 times, I recently tried warm soapy wet sponge, and they came up like new.

So pick the colour you like!

Regards the headliner, this car has black and my prior W164 had a light colour (I forget which), and sitting in the car I have never noticed the difference. And no I do not need a white cane!
